Nia Community Public Charter School is committed to providing comprehensive educational services that are student-centered and focused on the individual educational needs of each child. Teachers, staff and parents will work together to meet the needs of each student. NCPCS also commits to building community partnerships with organizations, business and government agencies within the metropolitan area.

In keeping with its mission, NCPCS envisions the development of a nurturing, culture-centered school, with the goal of promoting the healthy, holistic development and functioning of each child enrolled.
NCPCS is committed to implementing a rigorous comprehensive academic program that will maximize the capacity of each child to attain the learning goals as described in his/her individualized plan. While NCPCS’s academic program will be rigorous, the program will prepare all students for long-term academic success.

History
Nia Community Public Charter School (NCPCS) was founded by a group of concerned community members who were committed to improving the educational, social, and health conditions of children in the District of Columbia. Each member of the founding group either lives in the community and/or has worked in a professional capacity with families and children whose backgrounds mirror that of our target audience.
